How to Remove Virus Found from Mac?

Follow these simple steps to get rid of pop-ups in Mac –

Step 1- Uninstall malicious apps from your Mac OS X

If any malicious program is installed on your system then, first of all, you have to uninstall that one manually.

  1. First of all, you have to open Finder application that resembles a blue face.
  2. Move to the left pane of Finder window and then tap on Applications.
  3. From the list of all apps, search the malicious program that you want to uninstall.
  4. Choose the app’s icon and then go to File > Move to Trash. Well, you can also send the file to trash by pressing Command and Delete key from your Mac’s keyboard.
  5. Click on Trash icon and hold it until a pop-up menu appears on the Trash icon. Choose the option “Empty Trash” and the malicious app will no longer installed on your Mac.

Step 2 – Delete unwanted extension from your browser

  1. In order to remove unwanted extension from Safari, go to Safari menu and then choose “Preferences”.
  2. In Safari Preferences window, tap on “Extensions”. If there is an unwanted plugin, just press a click on “Uninstall” button.
  3. In the next step, choose Preferences, navigate to the General tab and then modify the default search engine to “Google”. In the General tab, locate Home page and then modify it to “google.com”.

Step 3 – Scan your device with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

  1. Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware that is a powerful tool to remove adware and browser hijackers from Mac OS X.
  2. Once this tool gets downloaded, start a system check-up by clicking on “Scan” button.
  3. When the scan gets completed, remove all malware by clicking on “Remove Selected Items”.
