How to Split Your Screen in Windows 10?

If you want to multitask then there is no better environment than Windows. You can run various applications on Windows and switch between them as per your wish. Windows 10 has made the snapping mechanism stronger by expanding its functionality. Now, we are available with multiple ways to split the screen into various Windows and get our work done. 1) Use Snap Assist

With the help of Snap Assist, you can easily split the screen and multitask. This makes it easier for you to select an open app window while choosing the apps you want to arrange on the screen. 

Step 1: Select the window that you wish to snap to one half of the screen and then drag it to the corner. 

Step 2: You will see a translucent outline where you can snap the app window. If you want to drop your window in that position, then let it go. You can also snap the window by selecting it on one side of the screen and pressing the Windows key and right or left arrow key. 

Step 3: If there are other windows that you want to work in simultaneously, then snap that app or window in the remaining half of the screen. Select one window and it will automatically snap into the position opposite to the first window. In case you don't, then the selection grid will disappear. Now, drag the second window to the corner of the empty screen. 

Step 4: You can resize two windows, go to the dividing line, and hover the cursor over it. Now, you will see two arrows. Use these arrows to adjust the two windows.

2)  Use shortcut keys

If you are looking for an easy way to split the screen, then use shortcut keys. Click on the active window. After that press the Windows key and Right or Left arrow ey simultaneously. This will snap the window on the left or right side.

Choose another window to fill the remaining half of the screen. If you wish to see the full screen window, then press the Windows key and Up arrow key simultaneously. If you made a quarter window by mistake, then press the Windows key and Down arrow key to expand the window. 

3) Turn off Snap Assist and adjust settings

You can easily turn off Snap Assist if you find it bothersome. Below are the steps that you need to follow to turn off Snap Assist. 

Step 1: Launch the Start menu and then go to the Start Menu

Step 2: Choose the System option. 

Step 3: After that, choose Multitasking given on the left. 

Step 4: Now, toggle off the Snap Assist feature 

After turning off Snap Assist, you can manually split the screen by adjusting the settings.
